Almighty God
The God of Love
Who loves this world so much
That you sent your beloved Son, Jesus
To die so that we might live
To suffer so that we might know love
To show love that is beyond our comprehension
Father I confess
That I have given away love and loyalty and priority
Which is yours by right
To people and priorities and possessions.
I have bowed down to popularity and human favour
Wanting to be liked by people before being loved by you.
I have stolen the worship that should be yours alone
And squandered it on fleshly satisfaction and human desire
And I am truly sorry.
Lord God
You are a jealous God
Jealous and zealous for your people
Passionate for our worship and adoration
I commit again this day
To worship you alone
To worship with heart and soul and mind
To worship the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords
The one who alone is worthy of worship.
Help me Father, to keep my promise.
