Psalm 27:4
One thing I ask from the Lord,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and to seek him in his temple.
Almighty God
Holy and Majestic
Wonderful beyond all my imagining
I praise your Holy Name this day.
You are more Holy
More Perfect
More Powerful
More in every way ….
And yet, you welcome us into your presence
Not just in far-off eternity
But here and now
Today, in the midst of the brokenness of humanity
Today, with our imperfections
And lack of faith
O Lord,
That you would enter in and fill me with your presence
And that I might enter into your presence
And in the mystery of your holiness
I might dwell in your house forever
‘to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and to seek him in his temple.’
