Why Heavenly Father?
Why the innocent, sinless one?
Why Jesus?
Why …….
I hear the words of the old hymn …
‘There was no other good enough
To pay the price of sin
He only, could unlock the gate
Of heaven, and let us in’
I know ... but it seems so unfair.
I know … that this is not about ‘fairness’
I know … your Love and Grace and Mercy
Turn ‘fairness’ on its head.
And so I come today
Undeserving and unworthy
With my frail understanding
And say “Thank you, Lord Jesus!”
Thank you for dying for me
Thank you for the power of your blood
Thank you ..
